Winter Wonderland Terrariums, Gingerbread Terrarium
DIY Time: 30 – 40 minutes
I made these during the holidays as centerpieces for our first annual ‘Cookiepalooza,’ my husband’s family tradition where every guest brings a cookie recipe, we bake them, then exchange cookies at the end – if there are any cookies left over!
Terrariums are so popular and cute, why not make one as an edible holiday gift? Choosing chocolate candies and nuts that will layer well on top of each other will make your edible plants look like ‘real’ terrariums.
In this tutorial I make the rice krispie “cactus” and chocolate cake “soil” before I build the terrariums. This DIY is so easy if you buy things already pre-made. Scope out the bulk section of your grocery store for raw nuts and chocolate candies for cost savings. And I found the glass bowls at my local dollar store, so these can be cheap Christmas gifts!
